Description
Hereditary Breast Cancer could be responsible for up to 10% of breast cancers. The faulty gene which can be passed down through both the male and female line increases the risk of developing breast or ovarian cancer to 70-85%! This journal has been created to raise awareness of the condition and also the choice that women can make to have preventative surgery should they find that they are carrying one of the faulty genes. Featuring the stories of twelve women who have had preventative surgery all proceeds from the sale of the journal will go to the National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline (www.breastcancergenetics.co.uk )
CHOOSING THE RIGHT MASTECTOMY BRA
Choosing the right mastectomy bra is key for comfort and confidence after surgery. Look for soft, breathable fabrics that are gentle on sensitive skin. Wide, adjustable straps and a supportive underband help reduce pressure and provide stability. Many mastectomy bras feature built-in pockets for breast forms or prostheses, creating a natural shape. Front-closure styles are especially helpful during recovery, making dressing easier with limited arm movement. Comfort should come first, but style can boost confidence too. For the best fit and support, consider a professional fitting. The right bra balances practicality, comfort, and femininity every day.
Most of our bras contain cup linings or pockets to contain a breast prosthesis and have been selected especially for their excellent fit, comfort and support.
